Came across this hockey mat which is on sale at 123-Hockey. Website is in Dutch but I think you can see what's the objective of this mat. I actually had thought to do something similar for my U11 players at the start of summer so that they can take it at home and practice. I love the idea where the mat can be portable and the design of the lines help to make the 'drill' interesting. The only thing I don't like is the price, at €700 per 2mx2m I expected a bit more (shipping not included). It says that the material used is comparable to a normal water based pitch. Is that even possible?

Looks like they are going to do an app for it as well:

Personally, it's a nice idea but a bit over the budget.

I'll buy a piece of turf the same size at B&Q for £40 & paint my own lines on it!!
€700 is taking the ****. Or a typo.

Agreed. Nice idea, absurd price. Go to the local hardware/garden store and buy 4m^2 of turf for 10% of that price. Or somewhere like http://www.greenergrass.com.au/index.html

Or if a hockey field near you has been relaid in the last couple of years, see if any of the old turf is still available.
