Having our pitch and shock pad relaid over the summer and the pitch will not be ready until the start of the season. We have no reasonable alternative pitch for pre season training. Other than fitness work what suggestions do you have for non astro hockey training? We have access to grass but not very good quality....

We had a similar situation last season. We trained on grass because we went from a pitch with no bounce to a decent hybrid pitch which is easy to do 3D skills on. The training on grass meant we got used to receiving a bouncing pass.

I agree I think training on Grass is a good thing, I actually as a coach like to every so often train my teams on grass. I can also suggest if you have an indoor venue that this would be a good alternate, or if you have some courts near by also as a venue.
