Yeah I dont mind...
I'm up for it!
Not the best person to watch regarding goalkeeper technique, but as a Technical Author, I spend all day writing manuals.
Ok it's taking apart jet engines, and not hockey keeping, but I'm happy to help compile?
OK then it looks like we will restart this project, guess we'd better get a crack on
Well, erm..yeah. Who can say really.
I was just offering to do some writing / manual construction that was all!
Will just need extra time to get American English / Simplified Technical English (lots of words one can't use!) out of my brain!
Ha ha, hopefully we can do in multiple languages too
I think we should start on the basics, like the role of a keeper and so on
I like rolls. Ham & tomato is my favourite.
Cheese and ham for me
I prefer just cheese....or tbh post match 2-3 pints and maybe some scampi fries.
Right well I have a few chapters outlined let me know whats missing etc.
Welcoming, Role and Equipment Required
Chapter 1 - Out of kit (Includes fitness, nutrition.)
Chapter 2 - Warm up (Stretches, Mental Preparations)
Chapter 3 - Saving with the Legs and Feet
Chapter 4 - Saving with the Hands
Chapter 5 - Diving and other more advanced drills
Chapter 6 - Drills Section - For non GK Coaches etc.
Chapter 7 - Warm Down
I would look to split up Chapter 5 so that it is a little bit more specific than just grouping by "all the other stuff" and also look at perhaps including information on tactical awareness, instructions and the more mental side of things outside of the warm-up routines.
Also drills seem to be in Chapter 3-5 but then there's a non GK coach drill section? Seems like a bit of duplication.
Please do not take this as negative criticism. I work in an environment where we have a specific dictionary of words we cannot use!
For example in GK terms:
"Before starting the game, check that your kit is securely fastened."
"Before you start the game, do a check that the goalkeeper equipment is secure"
Tis a pain in my shorts tailbone protector I tell you!
I will, your soo mean
Seriously though before we do anything we need to have the topics set.
Also a name, I was thinking "Keeping it out"
My goal : No goal (Trademark goalie64)
maybe a section on the mental side of the game .. ie how to deal with letting in goals, how to mentally prepare for matches, how to stay focused within a game - things like that.
I also think gear advice would be handy, like hi rebound or hi control and so on
Ok will take on board
That's always quite subjective so it will only be loosely covered.
Also thought about making it available through iBooks and other mobile devices
AndyGaut yeah we can... i got apple developer account... and i can create mobile sites.
I don't think we need a apple developer account to create a book, that's only for apps. Tho that said if we where to port it to a handy app which is likely then its a good idea to have a apple dev on staff!
