No idea I'm afraid - Just know x said yes x said no and a couple abstained.

Logic dictates from this that some = no response. :)

69 out of 83 clubs responded, of which 48 voted 'for' the open league and 21 voted 'against'.

Also remember that England Hockey have now been empowered by their membership to review governance structures and see if leagues currently hold too much power....

    I know right!

League committee met to discuss and agree steps forward last week. Sadly due to my mental state taking a bit of a wobble I didn't attend so have only caught up through a series of e-mails.

All I know is you guys are being put in a division of your own as nobody wants to travel to posh-Stoke ;)

Speaking to one of the league reps at a summer league game, I've been told they are doing regional N/S/E/W for the open sections below Midlands but not sure on how the teams will be structured yet

None of the structure is finalised to the best of my knowledge :)

Are you on the league committee that decides it? I didn't say it was finalised but that is what the league rep told me had been agreed by Midlands Hockey

Nothing is finalised - only the principle of an open league has been agreed. The League Committee has gone away to compile an open league proposal. At the MRHA AGM, they said they were aiming to complete this by Christmas. Clubs will still have to review / ratify a new structure before it can come into effect. The original open league report looked at a theoretical re-structure. This is probably the starting, but not necessarily the finishing point.

    Perhaps o_O

I refer you to a much better way of wording what I meant as to what is or isn't happening above ^

Some fascinating stuff going on in the east of the region!

Repton put 8 past Coalville, defeated 5-2 by a north Prem side but clearly they'll be a major force in EMP.

Some interesting transfers, looks like Atherstone have picked up a goal machine.

Some awesome news I've seen via some cc email, south Nottingham having a second side, albeit non-league this year.

Webby is an Atherstone lad born and bred and is 'going home' - he also was coaching the Ladies. He will score a ridiculous amount of goals if he receives protection from the umpires.....

In his younger days he looked very much like Harry Styles.

Glad we got that one sorted!

Unofficial news, as we have 4/5 captains who are brand new to the captaincy, I have provided them an "idiots guide" to the MRHA Men's League. I was wondering if a few folks fancied a look at it? I'd be looking to possibly pitch this as a former jet engine repair manual author (in a much more advanced form) to the league as an addition (NOT replacement) to the official rules.

Our ladies 1st team captain sent me the league update thing so obviously someone at each club is getting them, but they're not sent out to MRHUA (or they are but they've not sent them on to us umpires)

Updated 12-10-17 MRHUA have advised me that we're not on the circulation list from MRHA so as above, we're the last to know!
