Hi Guys, I was lucky enough to inherit a set of Evo III. After many years of being an Obo keeper I am very happy to try something new. However, I'd like to ask, what is the velcro strap situated lower down on the leg guard used for? Thanx.

I assume that would be the strap that hooks under your top kicker strap, it's to stop the leg guard twisting.

Yep. That's the theory, anyway. They certainly seem less prone to twisting than the Evo 2s were, but still not up to Obo's standards for not-twisting.

With so many different legguards seeming to be practically copies of each other, I'm surprised nobody has attempted to rip off/emulate Obo's locking tongue.

It's not just the tongue, it's down to the whole shape of the leguard. I wear Obo HR LGs with Monarch kickers, they fit together well and there is definitely no twisting.

The monarch gcp01 I use have two straps on the lgs to attach to the kicker straps , helps with the non twisting etc can be bit fiddly but worth using
