Can a GK play the ball away with there hand if they are on the ground. Eg if they stop the first short with their stick then play it away with their hand? :baffled:
If this topic has been done before please direct me to correct forum.

As far as I'm aware there is no rule that stops a player playing the ball on the ground. So I don't see why not, Keely may prove otherwise though rofl

it's absolutely fine so long as it's part of a goal saving action...
which as in the scenario described in the OP - it couldn't really be anything but!

Outdoors, the rules make no distinction between what you can do on your feet and what you can do on the ground whether you are a goalkeeper or field player. So I agree with the last posts.

It's quite a new Rule so some people don't know it yet.
Before the start of last year GK could only stop or deflect the ball with their hand, but now they can play the ball away.

Hi 67726 (hope I got that right), for further reading you can check out this thread, this thread, this one and also this one.

A quick browse through the UC forum can often find what you're looking for (as long as OPs have used descriptive titles, just like yours), or the search function works relatively well to find things also. :)

C'mon people! I thought FHF had decided to go easier on new members. No "U BIN KEELY'D" until they've posted plenty.

Keep the questions coming 67726, and don't be put off by the FHF welcome - it's sometimes too boisterous!
And like Keely said: nice descriptive title. Thanks.

    Well said, Diligent.

Yes, 67726, you can move the ball away with your LHP, so long as it's part of a goal-saving action, and so long as it's not dangerous (i.e. hit at an attacker's head, though that can be tempting... ;) )

    Cheers,
    Snoody
