Feel free to start one up and see how you get on. Sounds like something that would be popular.

Not sure about the prize though.

    Hi GoalieUK,

You can already get email notifications to post you have participated in, or have chosen to watch. You just need to activate it in your settings. Please let me know if you can't find it and I'll either tell you where to find it or do it for you. It's good to go in and have a check what is available as there may be other things you want to play with.

    Have fun.

    Killy

Wish there was a way to dislike/downvote posts, or posters' reputations. Then posts that are factually incorrect/offensive/etc could given negative scores. This helps in situations where you have a minute minority who have starkly different "opinions" to general consensus (e.g. Umpiring Corner). People who are new do not know to ignore their posts and might think that they are actually good advice.

I remember when this forum had this function. Mods kept telling me to stop giving negative rep to people. I'm sorry but if it's a democracy then you'll find me at the polling station.

Oh, this forum is not a democracy, not by a long shot. That's just life.

We had that in the past but it was impossible to moderate and things got out of hand in the end.

Because, as keely says, this is not a 'democracy' ... it is steve 's forum, to be administered as he decides, by the admin team.
They are clearly empowered to deal with offensive posts, but, as for 'differing opinions', if they are factually incorrect, then other members can and probably will point this out, preferably with appropriate evidence(such as the relevant rules).
I think it would be unhealthy to disallow or 'give negative scores' to opinions simply because they appear somewhat 'quirky' ... they may just have a point which we should think about before shooting them down in flames. The majority is not always right.
IMO, it is up to new members to read all the arguments before choosing to follow one line or another.
As long as we all remain civil, (and don't flog dead horses) then all opinions should be worthy of a hearing ... I believe that's how forums should work ... although I'm not sure who should decide when a horse is actually dead ;) (probably only the administrator).
If you simply don't like what others say, for whatever reason, then my advice would be to report the post to Admin, rather than starting a flame war or making snarky remarks in open forum.

There are far too many sub-forums in the "Tournaments & Leagues" section.

Some haven't been used for years, and people end up using the General section rather than find the correct one for the tournament they are talking about.
