The two new JDH sticks (blue and red) have different heads; the hook head and the taper toe. If anyone knows what the pro's and con's of them are it would be great!

The Hook head just has a larger surface area for trapping.

so the head shape is identical, the TT just has that bit shaved off? Im inferring form the JDH website the heads are different- when they look identical (bar the shaves TT)

I had a Mazon black magic 360 with a tapered toe and the main things I noticed is it seemed easier to Dink the ball up on the reverse bit of an Indian dribble (not sure if that makes sense?) and doing spins/ aggressive roll outs (depending on which club you play at)

Yes, they're almost identical, only difference is the shaved head. Or at least that's the only difference I could spot in the shop other than colour.

The sticks without the taper toe (X75 and X79) have hook heads which means the head curves around a bit further than the TT stick.

The TT is really close to the hook head shape, but the extra mass of the hook is shaved down to be the taper

On the previous model JDHs the Hook certainly has a tighter inner hook than the TT head.
I'd be very surprised if that's changed.

I wonder if Brent Livermore minds Jamie Dwyer getting credit for his idea now...

The TT sticks have a maxi head.
Having a taper toe with a hook head would be pointless, you don't buy a hook head if you want to do doughnuts, there's no space for the ball in the head.

Although Dwyer has played most of career with a hook head and has never struggled to 360...

cheers guys for all your comments!

I bought the hook head - not the taper toe. A club mate has the TT, we compared them, BOTH have a hook head, even the TT. The non TT just hasnt got the small shaves section - which I acknowledge can be helpful - but, when found the normal hookhead for half price I decided the TT wasn't essential for me !

Remember you can still give it a taper toe with a bit of sand paper.

Dwyer uses a maxi/midi if you look at my picture the x79 hook head(red) is not usually used by dwyer.

I don't think anyone has the patience to sift through every video of him. And besides, normally the burden of proof lies on the one making the outlandish claim (for example that Dwyer has never done a 360 without a taper toe stick)

And, nothing wrong with you trying to improve your knowledge but the way you're phrasing things is a little obnoxious and confrontational.
