If the important people In irish hockey see this and the people who know the important people. Why not have a tournament exactly like the Irish schools except for clubs at u-15 and u-17 level. Clubs who are not as strong also get game time in the provincial qualifiers. Please comment if you think this is a good and also look at the article posted on the 11th of january on SOUTHERN FRIED HOCKEY. http://www.southernfriedhockey.com/think-in-aims-to-arrest-numbers-decline-5128

Leinster players at a U14 and U16 level though, which is a pretty big stumbling block is you ask me.

Young players are playing far far to much. They get no time to rest or recover from injury as it is.

When you play matches you do develop team work but the skills development takes a back seat as winning becomes more important.

To arrest the decline they need the support of the parents, any time hockey gets introduced to aschool the local sports come in and kill the game off.

Hockey is on a downward spiral and I do advise players now to play other sports.
